Position Summary

• At Flow Networks, we’re committed to upgrading the world’s payments. As a Senior Product Engineer (Full-stack), you will be a key member of our technology development team, responsible for building and operating end-to-end product capabilities across frontend and backend systems.
• You will own product capabilities from understanding the problem and shaping the solution through architecture, implementation, deployment, and production operation. Rather than working only from predefined technical specifications, you will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, SRE, and other stakeholders to translate business and customer needs into scalable, reliable, and user-friendly solutions.
• You will work across our SaaS platform, from creating intuitive and high-performing user experiences to developing backend services, APIs, data models, and event-driven systems. As we operate without a dedicated design function, you will also help shape pragmatic UI/UX solutions and turn product workflows and ideas into clear and effective user experiences.
• You will also be expected to make effective use of modern AI-assisted development tools to increase engineering productivity while maintaining strong technical judgment and ownership of the software you build.

Key Responsibilities

• Own product capabilities end-to-end, from understanding the problem and requirements through solution design, implementation, deployment, and production operation.
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, SRE, and other stakeholders to shape solutions and deliver high-quality product outcomes.
• Design, build, evolve, and operate scalable frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and supporting systems.
• Translate product requirements, workflows, and prototypes into intuitive, responsive, and user-friendly web applications.
• Make pragmatic UI/UX decisions when detailed designs are not available and continuously improve usability based on customer and stakeholder feedback.
• Design and develop reusable frontend components while maintaining high standards of code quality, consistency, accessibility, performance, and maintainability.
• Build and maintain backend services using modern software architecture and engineering practices.
• Design and work with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Develop and maintain distributed and event-driven systems and integrations using technologies such as Kafka.
• Operate the team’s components in production and troubleshoot issues across frontend applications, backend services, databases, messaging systems, and infrastructure.
• Review and optimize applications and services for scalability, reliability, security, usability, and performance.
• Apply strong engineering practices including automated testing, code review, CI/CD, observability, secure development, and root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, technical standards, and continuous improvement across the engineering team.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for systems, components, APIs, architecture decisions, and development practices.
• Identify and apply technologies and engineering approaches that meaningfully improve our products and development process.
• Effectively use AI-assisted development tools for implementation, testing, debugging, code review, documentation, and technical exploration while maintaining engineering judgment and ownership of the resulting software.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on experience across both frontend and backend development.
• Strong experience building and operating production software products, preferably in a product company, startup, or fast-moving technology environment.
• Strong backend development experience with Java and Spring / Spring Boot.
• Strong frontend development experience with JavaScript / TypeScript, React, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend engineering practices.
• Experience designing and building APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures, including technologies such as Kafka.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable software architecture.
• Experience operating production systems, including observability, incident investigation, performance troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, including automated testing, code review, CI/CD, and secure development practices.
• Ability to translate product requirements and workflows into practical, intuitive, and user-friendly solutions and make pragmatic UX decisions when detailed designs are not available.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues across the full technology stack.
• Ability to work effectively across Product, Engineering, SRE, and other stakeholders.
• Strong ownership mindset, adaptability, and willingness to continuously learn and improve.
• Ability to effectively use AI-assisted development tools while critically evaluating and taking ownership of their outputs.
• Ability to work in an English-speaking environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or B2B SaaS products.
• Experience with cloud platforms, microservices, containerized environments, and DevOps practices.
• Experience building reusable frontend component systems or configurable/dynamic user interfaces.
• Familiarity with data visualization or prototyping/design tools such as Figma.
